It is the first public academic institution in Mauritania to offer comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes in business studies, with English as the language of instruction and research. NBS aims to become the leading hub of business education in the country. The school was founded to nurture a dynamic business community and to play a key role in Mauritania's economic progress, by providing outstanding education, training and research in business-related fields. Its mission is to equip students with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to thrive in today's competitive global market. NBS is committed to world-class education in business and management, to fostering entrepreneurship and leadership among Mauritanian youth, to advancing scientific research, and to building strong partnerships with local and international business communities. Its core values are innovation, excellence, integrity, diversity and social responsibility. The Bachelor of Science in Business lasts four years: a Foundation Year built around intensive academic English, a Core Curriculum year, and two years of specialisation in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Marketing or Management. By 2027, NBS will launch Masters and Executive MBA programmes and establish a Doctoral School. Students also enjoy academic advising, career counselling, clubs, sports and cultural events, and an active Student Union.
